About this book
Tiny Steps Toddler Curriculum
Tiny Steps is a year of gentle learning for 2 and 3 year olds, built around one simple idea: a color, a shape, a number and a theme each week. Week 1 is all about me, and the year moves on through the farm, apples, pumpkins, weather, winter, dinosaurs, the ocean, bugs, space and summer.
Every week follows the same short pattern, so your toddler soon knows what comes next. You get a plan page with ideas for the week, then a color-of-the-week page, a shape to trace, a number from 1 to 5, a dot-dab picture for a dot marker or fingertip, a wiggly path to follow, a big-and-small page, a shadow match, counting, a coloring scene and a sheet of first-word picture cards to cut out.
The pages are big and uncluttered, made for chunky crayons and short attention spans. The plan page also suggests things to do away from paper, like hunting for something red around the house or counting snacks onto a plate.
You get three printable PDF books of 12 weeks plus an 18-page Parents' Guide (a typical day and week, the year at a glance, scope and sequence, learning objectives, tips, FAQ, progress trackers and a certificate), 495 pages in all, in a Colourful Edition and an ink-saving Black & White Edition, each for US Letter and A4.

Pick the year that fits your child
Every curriculum is 36 weeks, planned down to the day. Go by what your child can do, not just their age: if most of the first weeks look easy, choose the next level. Preschool or Pre-K? Preschool is a gentle first year for 3- to 5-year-olds new to learning at home; Pre-K is the year before kindergarten, with letter sounds, first reading and numbers to 20.
