CVC Word Quest
CVC Word Quest is a 19-page blending workbook for children aged 4 to 6 who know their letter sounds and are ready to read and spell three-letter words.
The heart of the book is eight sound-it-out pages. Your child looks at a picture, says the word slowly, and writes one sound in each box: c-a-t, d-o-g, s-u-n. The words include cat, hat, fan, van, dog, pig, sun, hen, pen, box, fox, jug, mug, bus, yak and zip, which covers every short vowel.
After that come three pages of word tracing, two word searches, a page of word cards to cut out and two sentence pages built on “I see a” and “I like the”. Reading a full short sentence, even a simple one, is a real milestone at this stage.
A certificate of completion is the last page. It is a printable CVC words worksheets PDF in black-and-white, ready for US Letter or A4. The word cards double as a simple matching or memory game.
