Kindergarten Ready! is a 27-page skills kit for children aged 4 to 6 in the months before school starts. It covers more than ABCs, with a mix of fine motor, thinking, early literacy and early math.
The fine motor pages come first: two path-tracing pages and three cutting pages with straight, wavy and zigzag lines. Then your child traces a circle, a square and a triangle, continues two patterns, puts pictures in size order and finds the odd one out.
For literacy there are two beginning-sounds pages covering B, M, S, T, P, D, C, F, H, L, R and N, plus letter pages for A and M. For math there are number pages for 5 and 10, a count-and-write page, a more-or-less page and a first adding page within 5. A maze and a draw-the-other-half page add problem solving. The last activity, My First Day of School, asks your child to draw and finish the sentence “On my first day I will…”
