About this book
Weather Watchers Science Unit
Weather Watchers is an 18-page weather unit for preschool and kindergarten, for children aged 4 to 6. It covers sunny, rainy, snowy and windy days.
It opens with a read-aloud fact page. The sun warms the air and the ground. Clouds are made of tiny water drops that fall as rain when they get heavy. In very cold air, those drops freeze into snowflakes. Wind is moving air that we cannot see, though we can see trees sway and kites fly.
The activities use weather words like rain cloud, storm cloud, thermometer, rainbow, puddle and umbrella. Your child traces them, cuts out word cards, counts and writes to 10, does an I-spy page, finds words in a word search, solves a maze and matches shadows. A cut-and-sort page asks what to wear on a hot day and a cold day. A weather graph turns a week of watching the sky into simple data. The coloring page shows four little weather scenes, and a What I Learned page asks for a favorite fact.
It is a printable PDF in black-and-white for US Letter or A4.
