About this book
How Plants Grow Explorer Kit
How Plants Grow is a 10-page plant life cycle kit for ages 4 to 7, showing how a seed becomes a flowering plant. It is a natural fit for spring planting.
The read-aloud fact page covers four stages. A seed holds a tiny baby plant and needs soil, water and warmth. Roots grow down and a shoot pushes up toward the light. The young seedling grows leaves that use sunlight to make food. The grown plant makes flowers, bees visit them, and the flowers make new seeds.
Your child then labels the life-cycle wheel, cuts and pastes the stages in order, traces seed, sprout, seedling and flower, and cuts out word cards. The garden coloring page shows a flower growing from seed to sprout to seedling to full bloom beside a watering can. The kit ends with a What I Learned page and a certificate.
This plant life cycle printable comes as a black-and-white PDF for US Letter or A4. Try planting a few bean seeds in a clear cup so your child can watch the roots and shoot appear.
