About this book
Butterfly Life Cycle Explorer Kit
The Butterfly Life Cycle Explorer Kit is a 10-page printable for ages 4 to 7 that follows a butterfly from a tiny egg to a winged adult. It works as a stand-alone spring science lesson or as part of a bug unit.
It begins with a read-aloud fact page covering the four stages. The eggs are smaller than a grain of rice, the caterpillar eats so much it sheds its skin several times, the chrysalis hangs still while the body changes inside, and the butterfly dries its wings and flies off to drink nectar.
Then your child labels a life-cycle wheel, cuts out the four stage pictures and pastes them in order, traces the stage words (eggs, caterpillar, chrysalis, butterfly) and cuts apart a sheet of word cards. A coloring page shows all four stages in one friendly picture, and a What I Learned page asks them to draw and finish the sentence “I learned that…”. A certificate closes the kit.
This butterfly life cycle printable is a black-and-white PDF for US Letter or A4.
