About this book
Chicken Life Cycle Explorer Kit
The Chicken Life Cycle Explorer Kit shows how an egg becomes a hen, in 10 printable pages for ages 4 to 7.
The read-aloud fact page has four short sections. A hen sits on her egg to keep it warm for about 21 days. The chick pecks its way out using a tiny egg tooth on its beak. A fluffy chick can walk and peck for food just hours after hatching. In about six months it grows into a hen that can lay eggs of her own.
Your child then fills in the life-cycle wheel, cuts out the stages and pastes them in order (egg, hatching, chick, hen), traces the stage words and cuts apart word cards. The farmyard coloring page shows a mother hen with fluffy chicks, eggs in a nest and one chick hatching. A What I Learned page and a certificate end the kit.
This chicken life cycle printable works as a spring science lesson or a farm-week activity, and it comes as a black-and-white PDF for US Letter or A4.
