About this book
My Reading Journal
My Reading Journal is a 17-page reading log and response journal for children aged 6 to 10. It gives young readers somewhere to record what they read and think about it.
Three reading log pages let your child note the date, the title and how many minutes they read, and it is satisfying to see the list grow. Six book review pages ask for the title and author, what the book was about, a favorite character and why, and what they would tell a friend about it. Two story map pages break a story into characters, setting, problem, solution, beginning, middle and end. Two character trait pages ask how a character looks, acts and feels. A reading challenge card turns it into a game: 25 squares like reading about an animal, reading to a pet, reading outside or rereading an old favorite, with five in a row for bingo.
The journal works with any books, from library picture books to early chapter books. You can print extra log and review pages whenever you need more.
The file is a black-and-white printable PDF for US Letter or A4, and the journal ends with a certificate.
