I Spy & Look-and-Find Book
The I Spy & Look-and-Find Book is a 27-page visual puzzle book for ages 4 to 6. Each page asks your child to look closely and think about what they see.
There are three kinds of puzzle. I-spy pages ask how many of each picture are hiding on the page, so counting comes in naturally. Shadow-matching pages ask which black shape belongs to which picture. Odd-one-out pages show a row of pictures and ask which one is different and why.
The book cycles through eight themes: the farm, the ocean, space, dinosaurs, bugs, toys, vehicles and animals of the world. Each theme gets one of each puzzle type, 24 puzzles in all, plus a certificate at the end.
These puzzles are good for building visual discrimination, the same noticing skill children later use to tell b from d. Asking “how did you know?” turns each one into a little thinking conversation. The whole file is black-and-white, so it prints well at home on US Letter or A4.
