Snack Time Math: Adding & Taking Away
Snack Time Math is a picture-based addition and subtraction workbook for kindergarten, for 5 and 6 year olds. It has 23 pages and uses friendly food pictures like sandwiches, pizza, strawberries, broccoli, cookies and milk.
It begins with two count-and-write pages to warm up. Six adding pages follow, where your child counts two groups of food and writes the total, up to 10. Six take-away pages come next, where they cross out pictures and count what is left. Working with pictures first lets children see what adding and subtracting mean before they move to numbers alone.
The last pages bring in more and less, matching numbers to groups, a picture graph and count-and-clip cards. A certificate rounds it off.
These addition and subtraction within 10 worksheets come as a black-and-white printable PDF for US Letter or A4. Pair the pages with a real snack for counting, as long as nobody eats the answers first.
