About this book
The Big Book of Mazes
The Big Book of Mazes is a printable maze book for kids aged 4 to 7, with 38 mazes that start small and grow into real twisters.
The first 24 mazes come in themed groups of four, with farm, ocean, space, dinosaur, bug and vehicle pictures at the start and finish. Within each group the grid gets a little bigger, so a child who is new to mazes can find their way before the paths multiply. Eight holiday mazes follow, two each for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentine's Day. The last six mazes are the biggest and twistiest in the book, and they make a good challenge for older preschoolers and early elementary kids.
Mazes look like simple fun, but they ask a lot: planning ahead, keeping a pencil on a narrow path, noticing dead ends and trying again without giving up. The how-to page suggests tracing with a finger first, then with a crayon.
There are 41 pages in total, including a certificate at the end. It is a black-and-white printable PDF for US Letter or A4, and a plastic sleeve with a dry-erase marker lets your child solve favorites again.
