The Pumpkin Patch Learning Pack is a 31-page set of pumpkin worksheets for ages 4 to 6, made for a pumpkin theme week in October or a trip to the patch.
Three coloring scenes anchor the pack. One shows a pumpkin patch with a smiling scarecrow and a boy pulling a wagon of pumpkins. Another is a big curly vine with flowers and little pumpkins growing along it, which makes a natural starting point for talking about how a pumpkin grows. The third has two children carving a jack-o'-lantern at the kitchen table.
The literacy pages use words like pumpkin, scarecrow, hay bale, wheelbarrow and tractor. Children trace them, read simple sentences that begin “I see a” and “I like the”, and find them in two word searches. On the math side they count and write numbers to 10 and then 20, add and take away with pictures within 10, make a picture graph and use count-and-clip cards. Patterns, a maze, a star dot-to-dot, odd one out and a “my pumpkin story” page round it out.
