About this book
Snip Snip! Scissor Skills Book
Snip Snip! is a scissor skills book for 3 to 5 year olds, taking them from first snips to curvy loops across 23 printable pages.
Cutting is set out in six levels, three pages each: straight lines, diagonal lines, wavy lines, zigzags, castle-shaped lines and loops. Every line starts at a small picture, which gives your child a clear place to begin. Because each level repeats three times, there is room to practice before the next step up.
The how-to page covers safety and the basics: use child-safe scissors, hold them thumbs up, and let the helping hand turn the paper while the cutting hand opens and shuts. At the end there are word cards and count-and-clip cards to cut out, so your child gets to use the new skill on something they can play with, and a certificate.
These printable cutting practice worksheets come as a black-and-white PDF for US Letter or A4. Heavier paper or card stock is easier for small hands to hold steady.
