Three full-page scenes open the book. A smiling dolphin and a sea turtle swim over coral and seaweed with little fish, an octopus, a crab and a starfish sit on the sea floor among shells and bubbles, and a child peers out of a small submarine at a friendly whale.
Most of the book is big single pictures, one sea creature or ocean object per page: a shark, a jellyfish, a seahorse, a clownfish, a pufferfish, an anchor, coral, a crab and more. Under each is the word in dotted letters to trace. These pages are quick to finish, which suits 3 year olds, while the scenes give older children more to work on.
