About this book
Little Musicians Music Pack
Little Musicians is a first music pack for children aged 4 to 8. It covers rhythm, instruments and listening, and you do not need any musical background to use it.
Two pages of rhythm cards use quarter notes, pairs of eighth notes and rests. Your child claps them out, saying “ta” for a quarter note and “ti-ti” for two eighth notes, and staying quiet for the rests. Six big instrument pictures to color and trace come next: a drum, a guitar, a violin, a xylophone, a ukulele and a marching drum. Word cards with instrument names follow.
The listening log asks what song your child heard, which instruments they noticed, whether it was fast or slow and loud or soft, and how it made them feel. A final draw-and-write page asks them to draw what music makes them feel.
There are 14 pages, including a how-to page with ideas for homemade instruments like rice in a bottle. It is one printable PDF with black-and-white pages for US Letter or A4 paper.
