Four full-page scenes show a red barn with a cow, a pig, a sheep and chickens in the yard, a farmer driving a tractor through a cornfield past a scarecrow, a hen with her chicks near the henhouse, and a little girl feeding chickens and a goat by a wooden fence.
After that come sixteen big single pictures: the cow, pig, sheep, goat, hen, chick, duck and horse, plus a tractor, a hay bale, a scarecrow, an ear of corn, an egg, a dog, a cat and a wheelbarrow. Each one has its name in dotted letters to trace, which makes the book a gentle first word book as well as a coloring book.
