About this book
Night Sky & Constellations Pack
The Night Sky & Constellations Pack is a 20-page astronomy printable for ages 5 to 9 that invites children to head outside after dark.
It starts with read-aloud facts. A star is a giant ball of hot, glowing gas, and our sun is one. People long ago joined stars into pictures called constellations. The moon has no light of its own and shines by reflecting sunlight. Telescopes make faraway things look closer.
Eight connect-the-stars pages follow: the Big Dipper, the Little Dipper, Orion, Cassiopeia, Leo, Cygnus, Scorpius and Lyra. Each comes with a short note, such as how the Big Dipper points to the North Star or how to spot Orion's belt on winter evenings. A moon-phase wheel to cut out and build, two star-gazing log pages, two space coloring scenes and two dot-to-dots complete the pack.
It is a printable constellations activity in black-and-white PDF for US Letter or A4. You will need crayons, scissors and one paper fastener for the moon wheel.
