About this book
Civics & Community Pack
The Civics & Community Pack is a 22-page introduction to citizenship for children aged 5 to 8: rules, leaders, voting and helping where you live.
Two read-aloud fact pages cover the ideas. Rules keep us safe and fair at home, at school and in town. Mayors, governors and the President are leaders chosen by voters. When people vote, everyone gets a say. Laws are rules for a whole town or country, and good citizens care for parks, streets and libraries because they belong to everyone.
The hands-on pages make it real. Your child writes or draws four family rules, lists three rules at school and why each one helps, and holds a family vote using a tally sheet and a ballot to fold and drop in a box. An I Am a Good Citizen checklist asks them to follow a rule, help a neighbor, pick up litter and be kind to someone new this week. Tracing, word cards, counting, I-spy, patterns, a maze and a word search add skills practice, and two coloring scenes show children voting and a crossing guard at work.
Everything arrives as a single black-and-white PDF that prints on US Letter or A4.
