Ready for School! is a back-to-school pack of 31 worksheets for 4 to 6 year olds starting pre-K or kindergarten. It helps them get used to sitting down with a pencil again after the summer.
The pictures are school things: a backpack, pencils, crayons, scissors, glue, a ruler, a lunchbox and a globe. One coloring scene shows children arriving at school with their backpacks and a yellow bus, and the other is a classroom with desks, a chalkboard, books and a globe. Talking about the pictures is a gentle way to ease first-day nerves.
Your child traces school words, reads short sentences, cuts out word cards and does two word searches. Math pages count school supplies to 20, add and take away with pictures, compare more and less, match numbers to groups and make a graph. Count-and-clip cards, patterns, size order, odd one out, a maze, a dot-to-dot, a symmetry page and a short story page round it off.
