All About Me is a gentle first unit for children aged 3 to 5. It has 17 pages about their body, their feelings, their family and their home, and it is a natural first week for preschool.
The read-aloud fact page covers four simple ideas. I have two eyes, two ears, one nose and one mouth, and my body helps me run, jump and hug. Sometimes I feel happy, sad or cross, and all feelings are okay to talk about. Families come in all shapes and sizes. My home is where I eat, sleep and play.
Your child traces words like eye, ear, hand, foot, family and house, cuts out word cards, counts and writes to 10 and does an I-spy page. A cut-and-sort page asks which things feel happy and which feel sad, which opens up a conversation about feelings.
